Cities are great places to visit; they give you a truly different experience to what you would have from a resort which is solely about beaches, and they are so different from other types of adventure break, e.g. skiing or hiking. Now, if you can combine it all, wouldn’t that give you one seriously epic city holiday?

Sydney actually ticks that box, because there is practically every kind of experience in and around the city itself. If you want to head to the beach, you’re sorted; if you want to enjoy nightlife, you’re more than catered for; if you want gambling fun, head to the casino; if you want to do the nature thing, head to the landscapes just outside the city; and if you want to shop, you’re definitely fine on that score. Basically, Sydney has it all, as well as being home to two of the most famous and iconic buildings on the planet – the Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Think about New Year, which is the first image that is beamed onto your TV screen as the clock strikes midnight across the globe? Of course, it is the huge firework display from Sydney, with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge in the background. If you can visit at this time you will be treated to a seriously vibrant and fun holiday!

Of course, not everyone can take a New Year break, but that’s more than fine because Sydney is a city for every month of the year. On Australia’s sunny east coast, even the winter months here are far from freezing, and in and around the rest of New South Wales you will find plentiful countryside and various landscapes to explore if you fancy the idea of a few days out of the fast pace of city life. We should mention however, Sydney may be a large and busy city, but it’s also a very laid back one too!

Accommodation is very plentiful, so you really won’t struggle on that score. You simply head online and search for cheap hotel Sydney choices and you will see a huge range available, and if you want something a little more upmarket, perhaps of the five star variety, you have many large named hotels at your disposal too.

A visit to Sydney certainly wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the world-famous surfing heaven of Bondi Beach. You can chill out, learn to surf, swim, and basically enjoy the sunshine, all on one of the most famous beaches in the world!

As you can see, Sydney is about much more than city life!
